Weekends seem to really fly by and even though I get to enjoy our beautiful sea view on Monday, it is not the same when you have company. I think I suffer from Monday blues too!
Now with EJ, we have to wake up early, latest 7.45am, even though we very much love to sleep in till 9am. Our latest routine consists of going to the neighbourhood coffee shops... Either telok blangah mall or Blk 61.. With EJ in a stroller, complete with a portable fan and a bottle of expressed breast milk. We go for breakfast and a good chit chat and simply enjoying the neighbourhood.
The big guy needs his kopi-c, siew-dai.
The small guy needs his expressed breast milk, best served in a NUK teat. Daddy E is the expert in serving EJ.
Then it is back home for more lounging. I get to take a break... While E helps me with the laundry. On some days, he works up a sweat cleaning the house and it is impressive when you see the shining laminated floor gleaming back at you. The happiness of seeing a clean, gleaming floor, without a single hair... :) this is the happiness of a temporary stay-home-mum on maternity leave. Somehow, he seemed to do a much better job than me at cleaning the floor and tidying up the house. Even though I do the same everyday... But then again, he revealed his secret of a gleaming floor - using the vacuum cleaner. And the vacuum cleaner died in the process of being used! :(
Lunch again is at a neighbourhood coffee shop. I have been unmotivated to cook these days, especially since the two boys are not at home. My kitchen's been closed... So much that I am even unaware that the rice has run out. Oops!
We always manage to make it out of the house by evening.. After a day of lazing at home. This weekend, we went to Lego cafe at Cathy. It is pretty nice.. Though we would love the prices to be cheaper! The waffle with a big scoop of ice cream and MnMs and mini white choc chips is a sugar overload!
There is a small play area for kids to play with Legos. And an iPad with the cafe menu and Legos games.
Pity the two boys are not with us.. I think they would like the waffles and ice cream and the pizzas. This weekend (on Friday), we also had dinner with the gramps at Wisma Food Republic which turned out to be a rather cosy place for dinner. Not too crowded with comfy cushioned seats. Afterwhich, we went to Taka for walk-walk and bought some rip-off Sapporo petite doughnuts, 15 pcs for $4.80. And this is discounted price! We also tasted some dong ding gao oolong tea, which reminds me of my Taiwan trip with Mary. I like this tea which is semi-fermented. Not too bitter and it tastes very smooth.
On Sat, it was originally jam packed with Gloria's activities. I went to watch her final Chinese class for Term 2.
This cheeky jiejie, her grasp of Chinese and Mandarin is not good!
We had a blooper at CFH and in the end, we managed to spend more time with the gramps at MBS.
Sitting in rented MBS strollers...
And at night, E and I went out gallivanting at Sim Lim, refilling printer cartridges, which seems to be a con! And having dinner at 24-hour malay stall. Before I had dessert - super soft beancurd at Selegie. But also super expensive at $1.30. Our TBM hawker sells it at half the price - 60cts.
