First time swimming

Jacob's first time using the neck float and kicking about in the MBS bath tub. Everyone loves the tub. Gloria still does. Ian is a new convert. And Jacob loves the tub too.

In contrast, Jacob hated the infinity pool - the water is probably too cold to his liking. :)

My little fella

3rd month 18 June. Posing with his teddy

Hanging out with my colleagues while mummy does her appraisal

His thighs are almost getting stuck in the bumbo!!  He loves to be upright though... Watching things around him.

Grandpa calls him Jacob ham.

His double chin is pretty cool. Haha.

Need I say more about his chunky thighs?

And his earnest face. I wish he grows up as earnest and kind as his dad.

Baby Jacob

Watch how his face has grown!!

Ah Yee calls him chunky monkey... Hehe... He is going to infant care next Tues.

Month 3 going onto month 4

My little little pumpkin is growing readily... Perhaps a little too readily now.

He weighed 6.9kg last Monday when he went to Dawson Clinic for the rotavirus vaccination.

And today, he went to Bukit Merah Polyclinic for the 5-in-1 and the pneumococcal jabs. One on the right thigh and one on the left thigh.

Here are his statistics on 24 June 2014
Weight 7.1kg - 90th percentile
Head circumference 41.5cm - 75th percentile
Length 62cm - 60th percentile.

So he is weighing like a pumpkin but a little short.

Probably I should let him exercise and kick his limbs more... Anyway J will be going to infant care next Tues... I think I will miss him. Yet, I think I can't quite tahan taking care of him for the whole day...my hands and back are breaking...

He just started stuffing all his other fingers into his mouth...

He loves to be upright these days...

Having breakfast at blk 61 with my pumpkin...

Ice skating at The Rink

One of the things that is on my to-do list with the kids... Ice skating... But I don't have fantastic balance... So I am relying on E to handle the kids... And he did a great job!

This Saturday, we brought the kids to Jcube to skate at The Rink... It was expensive fun :) but I think the kids enjoyed themselves...

Vance was pretty "garang" and gungho and didn't seem to mind falling over many times. Ian was doing not too bad too, having improved his sense of balance after practicing the pennyboard. But he was still slightly more conservative, counting the number of times he fell (4!).  Vance's friend Zahid looks like Mr Bean... Hehe, a little clumsy and not so daring.

Gloria's first time ice skating turned out to be quite successful. E managed to coach her quite well - I am surprised!! She didn't cry when she fell. She held onto the penguin skating aid while E skated along.

And towards the end of the 2-hour session, Gloria picked up enough confidence to even try skating on her own. But E didn't allow her... Hehe.. Still seems dangerous to me!

She is so much braver than me!!! and E did a total fabulous job of guiding her.:))

Jacob enjoyed himself too... And slept for a good 2 hours while in the carrier. It was chilly cold for the little one. He only woke up towards the end to drink his milk.

Great outing 10/10... The two boys and friend were happy.. Gloria was exhausted and fell asleep on the stroller after the session.

Boston Seafood Shack

Bought a groupon for Boston seafood shack at Star Vista as an advance Father's Day gift... $25 for seafood galore... Deep-fried fish and prawns and chips, grilled snapper and squid and two drinks and two scoops of ice cream... Valued at $64... NEH

A day at gramps' place

It is time to start packing my stuff at Hillside... Memories, thrash, clothes, books...I think it will take me ages to sort them and throw the things I don't want anymore... Still, I started today (12 June 2014), ah mei's birthday...

And grandma and grandpa helped to play with Jacob...:)

Days at home

I am not that creative with selfies but I thought this gives a nice perspective...

And a conventional one...

Baby Jacob is usually hard at work when he is alone with me...

He doesn't like Daddy's new triangular pillow!

Not easy to capture his lovely smiles...

Playmobil story telling with jiejie Gloria and didi Jacob

For this week, I decided to bring Gloria and Jacob to Playmobil story telling at Sentosa. I did my research and it seems a feasible place to bring the two kids by myself.  I rested well the night before... Woke up around 7.30am to prepare...and left home around 10.15am. Leaving home at that time is considered early!! It includes bathing the two kids, one big and one small. Eating breakfast, having a shower myself, packing the backpack and some food (this time, Gloria helped to pack the blueberries and biscuits!) and even having a Skype call with ah yee and gramps.

Off we go! In bus 124, complete with stroller for Gloria and carrier for Jacob! We reached the interchange, got to vivo level 3, and off we go in the sentosa express! It cost us $8 for admission, $4 each. Even Gloria needs a ticket...

At the entrance of sentosa express....

We reached Beach station and took the beach tram to Palawan beach. The hardest bit is getting the stroller up the tram. The step to the tram is pretty high and I had to help Gloria up too. I was pretty lucky to have a young angmo male tourist to help me lift the stroller...and bring it down too!

I was pretty amazed when we reached Playmobil story telling. The story telling is in an aircon house - cool respite! And the playmobil sandpit is shaded. Wow!!

And I like those life size playmobil figures... They are so cute!

We listened to the stories... Prof Messy managed to catch Gloria's attention for about 10min and then she was bored and went to explore the huge bouncy pillow... Watch the playmobil tv....

Jacob always has this amazed look on his face!!

Gloria likes the sandpit... Although she was more interested in filling the box with sand and emptying it...rather than playing with the playmobil figures....

Jacob managed to have his turn on the stroller when jiejie is playing at the sandpit and he was quite happy to sit there for a while...
I convinced the girl in charge to play with Gloria...:) so that I could walk walk around....

Then we had a quick lunch break - we shared a chicken ham sandwich... $3.20 from 7-eleven. I managed to convince Gloria to eat half a sandwich, in exchange for slurpee later. She was already eyeing the slurpee machines!!

She gamely raised her hand when the presenter asked "who wants to wear the chicken hat?" in fact, hers was the only hand which shot up! The presenter thought she was joking but I asked Gloria and she said yes, she wanted! So I went up and asked for the chicken hat...

I'm surprised we have stayed for almost 2 hours... But there were more activities to explore...Gloria didn't manage to get her slurpee though... The machine was spoilt and we got fanta orange instead. She preferred fanta orange to fanta strawberry. :)

Next up, I decided to let her try the arts and crafts... It is $5 per activity and you can either do a photo frame, a bag or a watering can. Gloria chose the watering can.
I like the fact that there is a nice lady who helped her with the craft. :) so I can just sit with Jacob and watch her.

Gloria is getting tired though... Not willing to smile at the camera anymore...

She half heartedly colored something and got a playmobil knight in return...

There were also more playmobil things to play with... She lined up the 3 princesses in one straight line. But she was not interested to play anymore.

I was about to leave... But it turned out that she wanted to play at the beach...She wanted to try out the spider web...

Sometimes kids love to play the simplest things.. She was happy to clear the sand away and then put the sand back on again...

She played with a little boy for a while but I think she didn't like him and preferred to play by herself. She was running away from him...

While she was playing, I was just sitting... Watching the people around me. Dad with two school going kids (boy and girl) swimming at the beach... Mum with two kids (boy and girl) - kids were playing with water while mum was reading...it's nice to spend time outdoors with the kids... Of course, I think it is always nice if there is mum AND dad...

We left Palawan Beach around 3pm... Gloria was zapped and she knocked out on the stroller after we reached vivo. I decided to have my own time and have a cup of chai latte and a sweet ricotta croissant at ABC cafe. The chai taste is too light for me...

When Gloria woke up, it was 5pm... I decided we could join the gramps... So off we go, on a long bus ride to Orchard, which was nice enough for Gloria to sleep some more on my lap.

We checked out the latest Food Republic at Isetan Scotts. :)

Long day out for us... Rating 10/10!!
