Part 1 - Before Jacob is born....

My pregnancy with Jacob seems to have gone by in a flash... Before I know it, he has been inside my tummy for 40 weeks. And just like his older sister Gloria, he is going to be induced. Except even 1 day earlier. Dr Woo wanted me to check into Thomson Medical Centre on 17 Mar - exactly the EDD, just after midnight to be induced. It would be pitocin and then IV something at 8am and thereafter at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs (can't remember). I was a little doubtful since for Gloria, I checked in at 9am to be induced and she arrived at 12.07am. Well, Dr Woo said that this is his usual practice for inducing patients and it would help us save $.

I have been feeling nervous for the last few weeks - had to handover my work to my new colleague, making sure I don't leave behind a mess while on maternity leave and simply just doing some tidying and filing of my work. It was good to have a new boss who was understanding enough to allow me some time to do all these filing and clearing up, rather than passing on more work. So on the last day of work - 14 Mar, I left office with a clean desk and everything packed away neatly in files. Fantastic!

Sat and Sun seems to go by slowly and I tried to fill my days with a lot of activity - to E's dismay, I think. He was wondering why I was baking early in the morning... And nagging at him to do this and do that. I guess I just enjoy the feeling of multi-tasking and feeling productive and efficient about doing a myriad of things in a short frame of time. Which is quite the opposite of E. He loves to savor life slowly and relaxedly.

On Sat, I decided to bring Gloria to watch the Hello Kitty performance at City Square Mall, which turned out to be rather boring.  Look at her bored look below...haha.  Actually, she likes the car ride, except it was pretty short.

Yawnzzzz.... And then Gloria came back home to sleep and nap, before we headed to Swanston to do some last minute toiletries shopping. We had dinner at the hawker before heading home. Tonight, it is E's turn to nag at me to do some last minute clearing up of baby EJ's washed clothes. He helped to categories them into different sizes, which I hated to do. He's very good at organising.  I hate it when there are so many clothes of different sizes to organise!  I think we had enough hand-me-downs and new clothes given by my sis, MIL and colleagues for a good 1 year!! Lovely... Since shopping is not my thing.

On Sun, we went to church and I prayed for a safe natural delivery of baby EJ. It started drizzling and pouring and E thinks that's a good sign. :) We had lunch near Bugis as I wanted to do some shopping at Phoon Huat for cheese and butter and some other baking things. E was nice enough to accommodate me though we both knew I would hardly be doing much baking after baby EJ is born. We also went to get a cover for the old iPad which was very sturdy for $30. And them we headed home. The kids were surprisingly home already around 3.30pm and both of us took a nap. I woke up at 5.30pm to bake cookies, as I wanted to make a batch for the kids before heading to the hospital tonight. Well, we also cooked dinner and did all the laundry that we could possibly do! My parents arrived at 9-ish and I gave my mum some instructions. It was great they could come over and take care of the home while we are in the hospital. We left home around 11pm and E had to run back to get the keys we both forgot to take after locking the door. Guess I was really feeling restless and forgetful. We managed to get onto the bus around 11.20pm and had a good joyride through the city hall area before arriving at TMC. It would probably be a long while before we would see the city night scene after EJ is born. --- part 2 to be continued
